Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
These terms govern your use of Mirret's services. By engaging us, you agree to these terms.
We've kept this readable. If something's unclear, ask us.
What we do
Mirret provides brand protection services. Specifically:
- Detection — We monitor domains, advertisements, marketplaces, and social platforms for signs of brand impersonation.
- Verification — We confirm threats with you before taking action, ensuring we don't disrupt legitimate partners, resellers, or campaigns.
- Enforcement — We escalate verified threats to platforms, registrars, hosting providers, payment processors, and ad networks to request removal.
- Reporting — We provide regular reports on threats identified, actions taken, and outcomes.
What we don't do
To set clear expectations:
- We don't provide legal advice. We're not lawyers. If you need legal counsel, hire one.
- We don't guarantee removal. We submit takedown requests, but platforms make final decisions. Some content may not be removed despite our best efforts.
- We don't pursue litigation. We work through platform enforcement mechanisms, not courts. If legal action is needed, that's outside our scope.
- We don't monitor everything. We focus on the channels most relevant to brand impersonation. We don't monitor private communications, encrypted platforms, or content we can't access.
Your responsibilities
For us to do our job, you need to:
- Provide accurate brand information — Logos, domains, trademarks, social accounts, and any other assets we need to identify impersonation.
- Tell us who's legitimate — Partners, resellers, affiliates, agencies, and anyone else authorised to use your brand. If you don't tell us, we might flag them as threats.
- Respond to verification requests — When we find something and need confirmation, timely responses help us act quickly.
- Pay on time — We invoice monthly. Payment is due within 14 days of invoice date.
- Not misuse our service — Don't ask us to target legitimate competitors, critics, or anyone who isn't actually impersonating your brand.
Fees and payment
- Pricing — Fees are agreed before engagement begins and confirmed in writing. Our standard range is £750–£3,000/month depending on scope.
- Billing cycle — Monthly, invoiced at the start of each service period.
- Payment terms — Due within 14 days of invoice. We accept bank transfer and major credit cards.
- Late payment — If payment is more than 14 days overdue, we may pause services until the account is current.
- Price changes — We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase. You can cancel if the new price doesn't work for you.
Confidentiality
We take confidentiality seriously.
- Your information — We won't share your brand assets, strategies, or internal communications with anyone outside our team, except as needed to perform the service (e.g., submitting evidence to platforms).
- Our methods — Our detection techniques, platform relationships, and internal processes are confidential. Please don't share them.
- Exceptions — We may disclose information if required by law or to protect against fraud, security threats, or harm to others.
Intellectual property
- Your brand — You own your trademarks, logos, and brand assets. We don't claim any rights to them.
- Our work — We own our methods, tools, templates, and processes. Reports we create for you are yours to keep and use.
- Evidence collected — Screenshots, URLs, and documentation we gather during monitoring may be shared with platforms for enforcement and retained for our records.
Limitation of liability
This is important, so please read it:
- No guarantee of results. We'll work diligently to identify and address threats, but we can't guarantee that every impersonator will be found or that every takedown request will succeed. Platforms make their own decisions.
- We're not liable for platform decisions. If a platform refuses to act, acts slowly, or makes a mistake, that's not something we control.
- We're not liable for third-party actions. We can't prevent scammers from operating. We can only respond to what we find.
- Maximum liability. Our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.
- No consequential damages. We're not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, reputational damage, or other indirect damages, even if we knew they were possible.
We stand behind our work. But brand protection involves factors outside our control, and these limits reflect that reality.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from:
- Inaccurate information you provide (e.g., telling us a legitimate partner is a threat)
- Your violation of these terms
- Your infringement of someone else's rights
In plain terms: if you give us bad information and someone sues us because of it, that's on you.
Term and termination
- Duration — Engagement continues month-to-month unless we agree to a longer term.
- Cancellation — Either party can cancel with 30 days' written notice. Email is fine.
- Immediate termination — We may terminate immediately if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or ask us to do something unethical or illegal.
- Effect of termination — Upon termination, we'll stop monitoring and enforcement activities. You'll receive a final report summarising open matters. Fees for the current period are non-refundable.
- Survival — Confidentiality, limitation of liability, and indemnification survive termination.
Refunds
We don't offer refunds for services already rendered. If you're unhappy, talk to us—we'll try to make it right. If we can't reach a resolution, you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
If we fail to provide the service at all (not "the results weren't what you hoped" but "we literally didn't do the work"), we'll refund the unused portion.
Disputes
- Talk first — If there's a problem, contact us. Most issues can be resolved with a conversation.
- Governing law — These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Jurisdiction — Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of our services after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement — These terms, plus any written scope agreement, are the entire agreement between us. They replace any prior discussions or agreements.
- Severability — If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver — If we don't enforce a provision, that doesn't mean we've waived our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment — You can't assign this agreement without our consent. We can assign it as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
